Its the little things...

I will admit right now I have a short attention span.  So when bubbles present themselves I have to stop and enjoy them.  As children we are programmed to be fascinated by bubbles and balloons. How many of you have pointed them out to your own children (grands, sibs, nieces/nephews) in hopes of prolonging a meltdown?  Show of hands. See? Guilty.  I could say this is an exercise in macro and creating a shallow depth of field (f/2.6 - ISO 80) but honestly it was just the fact that there were cool little bubbles from the seltzer in my cup that happened to be sitting in front of a cube of colorful sticky notes.

Portraits...friend or foe?

My friends insist that portraits should be my next step in photography growth.  I disagree...to a point. I prefer to catch people unaware, in a good way.  This shot was a combination of both.  She let go of the balloons before I could push the shutter so I politely asked (ok grabbed) a balloon from a near by kid and told her to pretend to let it go again.  Got the shot, but I had to scratch up more balloons for the little kid because she let that one go too.
