A Splinter in My Mind

I often wonder if other people "see" things the same way I do. I was out to lunch at a restaurant that serves wood fire pizzas. As I was leaving I stopped and stared at these piles of wood. I had  to take a picture.  The symmetry and patterns of the wood pile drew me in. It was a beautiful day out and I didn't capture the warmth I "saw" when I took the shot so I deepened the shadows, added a little glow and warmed up the color to recreate what I saw that day.  (f2.6, ISO 50)

  1. The warm tone and contrast work-up does the trick when you first see it it is an abstract and you focus on the shapes ans patterns then after a min or so you "ah-ha" moment and figure out what it is, Great shot.

  2. Great patterns! It plays tricks with the eyes. The shallow depth of field give it a nice dreamy effect. Nicely done!
